Snake-hipped bass riffs and spine-tingling synth lines combine to deliver ‘DeathMetha’, the debut album from Italian maestros Federico Amorosi, ex of Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin and now playing bass with the Frizzi 2 Fulci band, plus electronic musician Heinrich Dressel, aka Valerio Lambardozzi, boss of the label Minimal Rome.
Originally released as a sold-out, short-run vinyl pressing on Giallo Disco, the much-requested album returns from the grave on cassette for Spun Out Of Control, with additional artwork from Eric Adrian Lee and a specially recorded bonus track exclusive to this release in ‘Mary Gasoline Got High’.
Presented as a limited edition of 220 copies, ‘DeathMetha’ is available on dual coloured cassette shells, reflecting the dual musical influences – the soundtracks to classic Italian ‘giallo’ slasher movies, plus the pioneering vintage synth-led electronica of the 1970s and 1980s – intertwining to stunning effect.
“Rickenbacker bass lines, Fender Rhodes and an array of vintage synths all come together to make the coolest, funkiest soundtrack to a movie you dreamt up in an absinth fever dream… get ready for all the vibes!” Complex Distractions blog.
