Medusa’s nightclub, downtown Chicago, the early 80’s. The smell of teen angst and cigarette smoke fills the parking lot. Long-segregated nightlife tribes mix into a single throbbing melting pot. Goths, skinheads, punks, black house-music fans, white Boystown denizens - all desperate to converge on Medusa’s vast dance floor upstairs. A portal to the city’s counterculture, a community, and above all, a playground. For these bored suburban kids, Saturday night means one thing… get into the Medusa, get wasted, and dance.
